Tromsolove Programme
Arrival Day
Tromsolove City Walk w/ Lunch · All year
Step away from the obvious sights and into the real Tromsø. The Tromsolove Walk takes you beyond the postcard moments and into the stories, details, and hidden corners that truly define the Arctic capital. You'll learn what to do (and what not to do) while experiencing Tromsø like a local. The route passes through the most scenic and atmospheric areas of the city, ending with a relaxed social lunch in one of Tromsø's most historic buildings.
City & Night Sky
Arctic Aurora Tours · Oct – Mar · 5–7 hrs
Step into a cosy minibus and travel with a local guide who knows these valleys and fjords by heart. Groups are kept small (maximum 16 guests) for personal attention and help with your camera when the aurora appears. You'll head to a private campsite in beautiful Grøtfjord, far from city lights — wander freely, enjoy organic hot chocolate by the fire, taste traditional snacks and a hearty meal from local ingredients. If the lights don't appear, you're invited back on another night at a reduced rate.
Arctic Wilderness
Norwegian Travel Guides · Winter · 4 hrs
Upon arrival at Camp Aspemo, you'll be warmly greeted and fitted with high-quality outdoor clothing. Before heading out, get a behind-the-scenes look at the world of dog sledding — meet the beloved huskies and learn how they're cared for. You'll ride in pairs, taking turns as musher and passenger, with the chance to switch halfway. The scenic trail winds through breathtaking Arctic landscapes over 3–4 kilometres. Afterwards, warm up in the cosy dining cabin with fresh coffee and traditional Norwegian cinnamon cake.
On the Fjord
Brim Explorer · Oct – Jan · 9 hrs
Experience the majestic whales of Northern Norway in silence and comfort aboard a modern electric catamaran. Quiet hybrid-electric engines allow you to get close to nature without disturbing the marine life. From the spacious decks or panoramic lounges, you'll have a chance to observe orcas, humpbacks, and other Arctic wildlife. Expert guides share knowledge about whale behaviour, ecology, and the environment throughout the journey. A café and bar are on board, serving warm drinks and local specialties.
Farewell Day
Kitti siida · Winter · 2.5 hrs
An intimate Sámi herding experience with a maximum of 15 participants, ensuring a calm, personal and authentic encounter. Meet genuine Sámi reindeer herders from Kitti siida who share their personal stories and insights into traditional reindeer herding passed down through generations. Get up close to the reindeer, feed them and take photos. Enjoy a hot traditional Sámi stew or vegetable soup, and a cultural introduction to Sámi history and daily Arctic life.
Most activities include thermal suits, hot drinks, and local food. Small group sizes are a priority across all experiences — you'll never be lost in a crowd of 50. Professional photography and camera assistance are included on the Northern Lights safari.
If the Northern Lights don't appear on your night, Tromsolove invites you back on another evening at a reduced rate — because everyone deserves their moment under the lights. Monitor the KP index with SpaceWeatherLive or check yr.no for cloud cover.
